My research stems from the early works of Grandma Jane Lee Myers - Hughes. She had two suit cases full of family wills;post cards;family letters;insurance policies;pictures(Many Pictures);newspaper clippings; marrige records; Obituaries; war documents, state records fishing ,drivers Liscense etc etc.
Along with my father Ed's notes at tracing the families past spanning most of his adult life. Lastly my Mother Merdella Miller - Hughes attempt in the year 1990. It was given to us kids for Christmas present. She organized a Journal-pedigree along with a small photo album for us three kids.
In March 2000 while stuck @ home for the weekend alone ,I pickup my mothers early attempt to try and trace the family tree. I was concerned at the holes she had left yet to be researched in my family tree. I still remember her words that Christmas "If anyone wants to know more about the Family, they will have to do it thereself" Well ten year later and many long hours on the Internet , Ector County Genealogy library, phone calls, New family members research; trying to piece togethor my Grandmother Janes trunk's along with my parents early attempts . I have managed to locate two family lines lost to us . The Joseph E. Parson and William Daniel Hughes lines. Meeting many new family members make it all worth while.
With this furthering of my families pedigree's. Is what I hope to bring to this website in days to come for all to enjoy. And share my other website allready in developement.
A special Thanks to Grandma Hughes , without your efforts to preserve are family history . I would have never meet so many nice people whom where so close to being lost to us forever.
Your Grandson Brent Hughes
