My 6th g/g/g/g/g/greatgrandfather is Orlando Hughes born in the 1600's, he is one of the Hughes brothers that came to Virginia about 1690. Died in 1768, Cumberland Cty, VA.Then there was his son Leander Hughes,b 1700, Cumberland Cty, VA. d. 1775. Powell Hughes was b. 1740 to Leander, he d. 1823, & his son Leander Hughes, b. 1776 Prince Edward Cty,VA. d 1836, Smith Cty,TN. His son Gideon Hughes, b 1801/1805 VA, d 1838 in Smith Cty, TN, And his son Leander Hughes b 1832, Smith Cty, TN, d 1890 in Missoui, His son was my grandfather Jess William Hughes b 1875 in Missouri, and died in southeastern Oklahoma, McCurtain Cty in 1933. My father Harold Loyd Hughes was born in Nov. 1923, died March 1987, I am his eldest daughter, Gwen Hughes, Morris. I have two sisters, and one brother. My father had two brothers put up for adoption when they were young, the older one is John Henry Hughes, the youngest was Billy Joe Hughes, they were born in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I would like to know if any one has any information on either brother or Jess or Leander Hughes? They were in an orphanage in Pryor, Ok. Thanks, Gwen
