Just wanted to add some info for the decendants of Thomas Cambell Carey my great great grandfather ( surveyor and politician in Bunbury Australia. Born in Ireland 1834.
We are the Canadian branch of the family. I am Alice Careys (Campbells daughter) grandaughter.Alice b.1903 came to Canada in 1910 with her sister Edith b. 1896 and their governess(after their mother died ( Maggie Valentine). the boys Charles and Frederick remained in England at this time. They were sent t (the girls) to near Edmonton Alta.to family friends. Charles and Frederick later emigrated to Canada as well.Their father Campbell was in Africa working for British intellegence pre WW1.
Alice is the daughter of Campbell Bunbury Carey.b.1869 d.1929 He is youngest son of Thomas Campbell Carey from his first marriage . Eliza died and he remarried.
Alice married Robert Clegg and had my mom b.1927 Edmonton Alta. and my aunt Shirley b.1931 d.2004. Shirley married Ed Shepherd and had two daughters Suzanne b.1950 d.2008 & Linda b.1953 d.2002.
My mom Patricia married Evan Hughes(b.1920 in Shanghai ) in1947. They had me in 1964.
I have three children with Mike Silver. One son Caelen Mckenzie Hughes Silver b.1994,Daughter Rhiannon Charlotte Campbell Silver b. 1996 and daughter Olivia Grace Morgan Silver b.1998.
Charles married Miriam and settled in Redwood city California .Uncle Fred settled in Toronto Ontario. Edith in Alta.?. Only Alice had children to the best of my knowledge.
I am interested where they entered N. America? On this site someone has listed entry as New york? I presumed Nova Scotia?(Halifax) also what ship etc.
I would like to add and correct some info that I found when I looked up Thomas Campbell Carey and decendants on this site. How do I do that?
