My family are the Hughes' from the Andrews or Marble North Carolina Hughes.. my grandfather was Lee Hughes.. my grandmother was Zula Mathis Hughes .. I do not know what her father or mothers name was. My father had 6 brothers and 4 sisters the order was Arvil, Ethyl, Frank, George(my dad), Verlin, John Lewis, Harold, Grace, Catherine, Paul, Louise. They were all born aroud Murphy, NC. or Martins Creek area.. My father married Hattie Belle Allmon which is my mother... there are numerous spellings of her last name. My daddy died March 14th 1990. of these as of Sept 3rd 2000 John Lewis, Harold , Grace and Catherine and Paul are still living. I have a list of most of their children.. however I cannot go back beyond my grandparents. The Hughes' are still having reunions with them occuring the last Sunday in September which will be on the 25 of the year 2000. I do not know the origin of the Hughes are far as where they came from except i have heard they came from England but do not know if this is true. I know there are numerous branches especially in Oklahoma and MS .. I will add information as I find it. As I said I know most of my 1st cousins names and will list later.
