Thank you for visiting my site devoted to many years of genealogy research of the Hughey Family. My interest for research was sparked at age 8 or 9 by my Great Aunt Martha, who spoke to me often about the Hughey and McFarland families in Ireland. Though she was quite elderly at the time, she wanted to take me there one day to find our kin. Unfortunately she passed away and we were unable to go on our quest. As a teenager I discovered the New York State Archives and delved into hours of going over poorly written census records in dim light, sorting through lots of information on families in Washington County New York. Eventually I compiled enough information to complete some of the genealogical puzzle. Through the years I came across some much needed information on some branches of my family. Some of it dating back to the early 1600's. I have been at a stand still with the research for a few years now and hope to do further studies on my upcoming trip to France and future trip to Ireland.
