The Hughes line stems from Robert A. Hughes, born in Canada, who naturalized to the Chicago area around 1900. He married Catherine Murphy and had son Oramel Hughes who married Rose Arvilla Hunter, daughter of Florence Bell Geseky and Frank Sylvester Hunter.
Florence Geseky born 1876 daughter of Hester Elizabeth Geseky Hagerty, father's name as yet unknown. Frank Sylvester Hunter born 1873 son of John H. Hunter and Mary E. Hunter (maiden name as yet unknown).
The Hunter's lived in Franklin, PA for several generations, moving around 1900 to Youngstown, Ohio and later to Chicago. Oramel and Rose had Donald James and Oramel Hughes. Rose had two sisters, Elsie and Esther.
Donald James born 1922 married Mary Jane Webb, born 1935 in Baht, Maine daughter of Arthur Creighton Webb and Mary Jane Huewel. Mary Jane's siblings are Sharon Webb Barter and Connie Webb Machon. Arthur Webb's father Charles Augustus moved to the U.S. from London, where his father Uriah Webb was an innkeeper. Many extended family members from these lines exist and we hope will share in and enjoy these findings.
