George Washington Huheey (spelled Huhwy) was first listed in the directory in 1860 as a "moulder". We believe his year of birth was 1818 (according to his grave marker). He married Elizabeth Warnford (other spellings exist for her, e.g. Wanford, Warneford) who bore him four girls and three sons. She died one year after the birth of my ancestor, Thomas, who was born 2/27/1867. I had always believed that they were illiterate (accounting for the many spellings of our name and the unique one that was apparently agreed upon by the sons around the turn of the century)and had immigrated from Northern Ireland in the potato famine of the 1840's. A second cousin of mine heard that he was born in Baltimore and that makes more sense because of his middle name and the name he gave my grandfather, Thomas Jefferson. Through his first born, Gerge W. Jr, he now has seven generations bearing his name (the other two sons were not so good yet--Edward's name will not be passed and Thomas has a chance for six generations at this time.
