I'm in the process of researching my family tree of the Hult's and Madison's. On my father's side of the family, the Hult's, I've only traced as far back as my great-grandparent's, Alfred Hult and his wife Louise Jernberg/Hult. I believe they came to the U.S. from Sweden in the late 1800's and settled in Chicago, Illinois for some period of time. My grandfather Ralph Alfred Hult was born there on October 9, 1899. My grandmother on my father's side has a similar background. My great-grandparents, Gustav Hultberg and his wife, Selma Somberg/Hultberg also came to the U.S. from Sweden in the late 1800's or early 1900's. My grandmother, Elsie L. Hultberg/Hult was also born in Chicago, Illinois of October 31, 1906. So far, I am unable to find any immigration records for any of them and I am hoping that they didn't change their names when they arrived. On my mother's side of the family, the Madison's, I've made it a bit further. My grandmother's father, Samuel Reynolds came to the U.S. from England in the 1800's and married Edith Pickett whose family settled in Iowa and in Denver,Colorado. My grandfather's parent's, James Austin Madison and Lillian Allen/Madison were from Alexandria, Minnesota.
