George August Gilbert Hunt (son of George Cornelius Hunt and Martha Magdelena Ruehling) was born 29 Mar 1909 in Altenburg, Perry County, Missouri, and died 03 Dec 1967 in Altenburg, Perry County, Missouri. He married Elda J. Weber on 25 Jun 1942.

GEORGE HUNT OF ALTENBURG DIES SUDDENLY George A. Hunt, well-known resident of Altenburg, succumbed to a heart attack at the home of MM Theobald Leimbach on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the age of 58 years. Mr. Hunt, a Star Route mail carrier and farmer, was born on March 29, 1909, in Altenburg, a son of George C. and Magdelene (Ruehling) Hunt. On Jan. 25, 1942, he married Miss Elda Weber, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Mrs. John (Ruth) Rauh of Pocahontas, Mrs. David (Paula) Reisenbichler of New Wells and Norman and Gladys at home; three brothers, Joseph of Glidden, Ia. Herman of Auburn, Iowa, and Charles Hunt of Altenburg; one sister, Mrs. Fred Weber of Gorham, Ill., and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Mr. Hunt's one daughter, Mrs. Rauh, is the Pocahontas correspondent for this newspaper. The body lay in state at Yound & Sons Chapel from 7 Monday evening until noon Tuesday, Dec. 5, when it was taken to the East Perry Chapel at Altenburg. After noon Wednesday, Dec. 6, the body was taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for services at 2:00 by the Rev. O.A. Herzog. A prayer service was held at 8 Tuesday night. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
