JOHN THEODORE PETER GLIDDEN - John Theodore Peter, 89, of Glidden died on Tuesday, Jan 12 at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City. Funeral services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden, with the Rev. David Fechner officiating. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Glidden. A prayer service will be held Thursday, Jan 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Organist will be Cliff Loeschen. Casket bearers will be Charles Best, Arnold Hueton, Virgil Heuton, Ron Richardson, Richard Prill and Jerry Wilson. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home. Mr. Peter was born on Dec. 13, 1898, at Glidden, the son of Edward and Mary (Rath) Peter. On Jan. 11, 1922, he and Jane Bushman were married at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden, with the Rev. Rudi officiating. He lived all his life in the Glidden and Lanesboro area. He was a retired farmer, and he and his wife owned and operated a cafe in Lanesboro for many years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden. He is survived by his wife, Jane, of Glidden; a son, Raymond, and his wife Esther, of Lanesboro; a daughter-in-law, Glenda Peter of Sedalia, Mo: three sisters, Mrs. Emma Prill of Glidden and May (Mrs. Henry Berns of Lanesboro and Anna (Mrs. Conrad) Berns of Lidderdale; nine granchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lloyd; a sister, (Rest is missing.)
