FUNERAL RITES
MRS. RECKA PRILL
Services held Sunday afternoon in Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, Glidden.
Funeral rites for Mrs. Henry Prill were held Sunday afternoon in Peace Ev. Lutheran Church in Glidden, Rev. F.J. Rudi, the pastor was in charge of the services.
Mrs. Prill died rather suddenly, at her home in Glidden, Friday morning. She had been ill for several days, but her death was unexpected and a great blow to her family.
She was a highly respected pioneer resident of Glidden, and the great mass of beautiful flowers gave mute testimony of the high regards of her friends.
Burial was made in the family lot in beautiful Westlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Prill was a native of Germany, born Nov. 9, 1868, and came to this Country when 14 years of age. She was born Recka Seeden, daughter of Dick and Johanna Kampmier Seeden. November 18, 1899, she was married to Henry Prill. After farming in Glidden township for a long time, Mr. and Mrs. Prill moved into the town of Glidden in 1917. Mr. Prill passed away June 21, 1927.
Mrs. Prill was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
She was a mother of ten children, eight of whom are living. They are: Dick Prill, Henry Prill, Herman Prill, Mrs. Henry Fleshner (Minnie);; Mrs. John Loeschen (Jennie); Mrs. William Janssen (Recka); Mrs. Ray Bowes (Lena) and Miss Louise Prill, all of Glidden or vicinity. Miss Louise Prill teaches in the Glidden Consolidated School and lives at home with her mother.
Mrs. Prill also leaves twenty grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Dick Seeden of Lanesboro and Fred Seeden of Glidden, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Bushman of Glidden.
Two sons preceded her in death, Louie died in 1904 at the age of fourteen, and Louis in 1912 at the age of _____.
Pallbearers were six grandsons, Laurence Topp, Laurence Heuton, Clifford Loeschen, Robert Bowes, Roy Janssen and Richard Prill.
Among relatives and friends from a distance attending the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Prill; Orville Prill and son Ronald from Fairfield; Mrs. Emma Lang of Des Moines; Lorraine Bowes, Pontiac Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Martens and daughter, Windom, Minn.; Mrs. Henry Mennenga, son Elmer; Mrs. and Mrs. Menno Mennenga, Ackley, IA., Viola, Richard, Marian and Alva Borcherding, Carpenter, Ia.; Misses Florence and Viola Rogers, Fayett; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wittry and Mrs. Mae ___agaman of Boone.
