Edward John McKenna was born in Mason City, Iowa to Edward John McKenna, Sr. and Catherine (Dougherty) McKenna. Edward and Catherine were born in Ireland. Edward came to the U.S. about 1857 and married Catherine. They had six children, Edward. Jr., James, Robert (adopted), Sarah, Kathryn and Margaret. Edward, Sr.was killed while crossing a railroad track in Rothsay, MN. he was hit by the Great Northern Flyer. He was on his way home to Park Rapids, MN. at the time of the accident.
Edward, Jr. met and married Carolyn M. Scheidecker, both of Park Rapids, MN. They had 9 children while in MN., then Edward moved his family to Paris, Michigan where the last two children were born. Their children were: Edward, James, Cecelia, Ralph, Beatrice, Charles, Marjorie, Mary, Joseph, Dorothy and Theresa.
Marjorie married Bennett Hurst also of Paris, Michigan. They had 9 children. Colleen, Edward, Therese were born in Michigan. Patricia, Judith, Lynda, Robert, Katherine and Michael were born in Toledo, Ohio.
Patricia married Stanley J. Mikolajczyk of Toledo, Ohio and they have 4 children: Michelle, Kim, Stanley II, Stacey.
