About Our Family Research

I am researching (John)Preston H. Feltz. He was born March 16, 1866. His parents were Thomas Bryant Feltz & Lucinda A. Hall. Lucinda is buried in Piney Flats, TN. Thomas & second wife, Phoebe Baker, are buried in Yancey County, NC. His sister, Sarah Elizabeth, married Fleming Cornelius Randolph. They were my greatgrandparents.
Preston married the Sheriff's daughter-Mary Etta Woody. He was a deputy for several years. He was also a policeman in Eaton, IN & very impressive looking in his long black coat & badge! From pictures, he looks to have been a very tall man. I have been told that his wife was very pretty too!
He practiced dentistry at Lundy, NC for some time. He also built the first school house at Deyton Bend, near Brush Creek, NC. They eventually moved to Tyro, KS.
They had four children: Lena May, Kitty Lee or Kathryne, Jesse Leroy & Nelson. Mary worked at the new phone office & I think that she & the children lived in the back. Preston went back to NC for a year. I'm not sure why. When he sent for his family, Mary wouldn't come.
In November 1915, Preston arrived in Tyro to collect his family. I'm not sure what transpired but, Mary wasn't going to leave her new job & come back to the mountains of NC. Out on the road near town, Preston shot Mary, Nelson & then put the gun to his own temple. His brother, S.N., came from Eaton, IN and took care of funeral arrangements.
I am looking for any descendants of their children. I am also trying to find where Thomas Feltz came from. I would appreciate any input!
