The Haynes Family of Virginia

Updated July 1, 2007

About Our Family Research

2007
Like many American trees, the focus of the Haynes Family Tree has been to "fill-in" recent branches (the last 200 years, or so), to connect with the Old Country and to determine possible Native American and other non-European ancestry. Most of our ancestors are from the British Isles and Northern (Western) Europe. The heaviest concentration of data involves our English, Scottish (mostly through Ulster, Ireland), French, German and Norman lines. Most came to Virginia through the largely English settlement of eastern Virginia (1600's) and the mostly Scotch-Irish and German settlement of the Valley of Virginia (1700's). Potomac and Cherokee ancestors are in our tree.
