Nicholas J. Iati of Rochester, NY

Updated October 13, 2003

About Our Family Research

Hello, my name is Nick Iati. My father is Antonio Iati, son of Giuseppe and Anna (Lepre)Iati of Reggio Calabria. My father and his family immigrated to the United States in 1961 to unite with my grandfathers' brother,John Iota and his sister, Sister Josephine Iota(The Iota name was changed upon John and Josephine's immigration to the US due to misspellings in paperwork.) The family settled in Rochester, NY.
Currently, there are Iati's scattered all around the city. My immediate family is not in contact with some of the Iati's living here because we are not quite sure how we are related, however, recent research does reveal a direct link between the families, and we are hoping to re-unite with this side of the family in the near future.
My immediate family consists of my late grandfather and grandmother (Giuseppe and Anna Iati; my Father (the eldest of their children) Antonio Iati (Victoria Tallo); Aunt Ellen and her husband Ron Pelusion and their children Jeannine and Ronald Pelusion; John Iati and wife Eileen (Coyne); Nazareno Iati and his wife Joyce (Mastrella) and their children Michael and Bianca.
My late grandfathers' deceased brother John Iota raised his family in Rochester, NY also. John was the reason my grandfather was able to move his family over to the US. His family consists of: Carm (his wife); Lorraine Tomaso and her husband Peter; John Iota Jr. and his wife Sharon (Bargo; John Jr.'s Children (from a previous marriage to Deborah) Carla and John Iota.
My late grandfather and his brother also had two sisters: one died in Italy at a young age. The other was the eldest of the siblings. Her name was Sister Josephine Iota. She did not have any children due to her service to the church.
