I began research of the Ibbitson family in the 60's, before the PC age. Most of it was done in the record office in London and some in churches in Durham where my side of the family lived. A direct line of the Ibbitson's took me back to Anthony who was born in 1790. His son William b 1819, his son Frederick William, b 1862 and my father Alfred,b 1891. I was amazed on returning to genealogy to see the world wide interest in the subject and the amount of source material available on the web.
Using these resources I hope to expand my knowledge of the Ibbitson's and possible fill in some backgrounds of my mother and my wife.
