I have been researching and gathering information about the people that live and have lived in and around Mad River Township,Champaign County,Ohio almost all my life. I have been seriously collecting family names and dates and other data for over 40 years.
I am amazed at the connections that some how connect almost everyone in our small farming community. No matter which direction you seem to go in a family, they always seem to come around and connect and then connect again and again.
My husband always jokingly would say I was related to half of Champaign County, now, I believe he had a point.
Some of the families come from the shores of New England and some from the ports of Philadelphia. Almost all of them came at some time through Pennsylvania. Some then came directly west into the Great Ohio Valley, while others went into the Shenandoah area of Virginia and then up into Ohio.
As you will see a lot of families put down strong roots right here in our Mad River Valley, while some families branches went on West and spread throughout this great land.
I have added quite a few names besides my direct line, but as you can see, somehow, somewhere they all make some kind of a connection.
