Born and raised in the Owens Cross Roads AL community (NEAR Huntsville AL)
Attended New Hope AL, Hazel Green AL and Decatur AL high schools
U.S. army from 1950-Nov. 1952 403rd Evac Hospital discharged with the rank of Sgt.
