Although my ancestry has been researched in great detail, there is more that I would like to uncover. There is an air of mystery surrounding my paternal great-great-grandfather, and I hope to find answers to my questions. I know that Harry Inman came to Michigan from the state of New York around 1840, but his reasons for doing so aren't clear and little is known of his life before that time...where he lived, his family (further generations), etc. My Tripp ancestors are well-documented, as are the Story relatives in my background, though I am interested in any details that others may have to share with me.
My maternal ancestors haven't been researched as extensively. I know that my Menne relatives came from Germany in the 1800s, while the Janke family, at the same time, came from Russia. Tracing my family tree on my mother's side has revealed only a few generations. Again, I am interested in any details that may be provided.
The Menne family (sons/daughters/grandchildren of John Frank Menne, born 1905, and Hilda Janke, born 1908) held a reunion in 1991. At that time, a book was compiled that detailed John and Hilda's decendents. An update was published in 1998, to celebrate my grandmother's ninetieth birthday.
