I have been researching the history of my branch of the INSTONE family, my findings have brought me back to Shropshire, England where my ancestors came from. There were several family's of INSTONE's living in the Shropshire area, I have traced my anncestry back to my 6th great grand parents Thomas INSTON, born about 1698 and his wife Sarah. They had five children, Joseph INSTON my 5th great grand father, born 1720 and married to Mary - Sarah INSTON born 1721, died 8th October 1741 - Charles INSTON born 1722 - Mary INSTON born 1723, died 1724 - and Susannah INSTON born December 1724, died 1724/25. All the children were born in Elmbridge, Worcester, England and from here they migrated to other counties i.e. Shropshire, Staffordshire, Durham, Yorkshire, Lancashire (Liverpool)and others as well as other countries. I am presently in contact with proven descendants in Australia, New Zealand, Lanzarote Canary Islands, Canada and the U.S.A. My great grand father Thomas INSTONE born in 1841 whose parents were Joseph INSTONE born abt March 1813 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Mary Ann WAINE born 1812 also in Wolverhampton. They had eight children, Enoch INSTONE b. 1832 - William Henry INSTONE b.September 1837 - Elizabeth INSTONE b. 1838 - Thomas INSTONE (my great grandfather) b. 21st October 1838 - Caroline INSTONE b. 1843 - Edwin INSTONE b. 1845 -James INSTONE b. 1848 and Mary Ann INSTONE b. 1850. My great grand parents Thomas INSTONE b 1838 and Ellen Beman MORRIS migrated from Madeley in Shropshire to the North East of England where they married on the 26th February 1865 at South Shields Parish Church County Durham. From here they moved to Darlington and then Stockton on Tees County Durham.
