Elijah Crafford, PA Patriot

Elijah Crafford, Patriot of the American Revolution, was born at Lower Mount Bethel, Northumberland County, PA in April 1756 or June 1758, served as a Corporal in the PA Troups under Capt. John Lyle in the 6th Co, 2nd Battalion, fought at the Battle of Long Island, married Elizabeth Stout in 1778, reared a family of at least six known children, removed to Washington Coounty PA about 1805, where he was well known. He is buried at Florence/Crossroads Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Smith Twp.
