About Our Family Research

these are my grandfathers linked by census mariage death certificates. I Imagine the first missing piece of alot of my own realitives is my grand father. My grand father is CHARLSE THOMAS IREY, born: Dec. 29th, 1928(Independent City)Virginia: Died Dec 2nd 1961 buryied in Pitkin Lousianna. He died very young and due to privacy laws of La. alot of information on him is not available and being such a small town there's not much to go on.
My fore fathers: Rodger Dale Irey, Charlse Thomas Irey, Earl Franklin Irey, Thomas Irey, Levi Irey, Samuel Irey,John Irey,Phillip Irey and Eyrich, These are documented and backed up. These are the granfathers I have never met... Very few pictures of my late grandfather, He suposivly died in a car accident. Died very young.

There seems to be alot of rumor's on the origin of the name IREY
My theory is this: the direct origin of this name derives from Ireland, Our name has a very old and destinguished family Crest... Nomads came to there last names by trade and by monuments that affected their lives and so forth. Of course I do not argue that names can be changed after entering the America's. But why would the name Irey exsist before the change and then again after. My ancestor's have been tracked from Ireland, England, Germany and the America's and if I look hard enough I'm sure even Scottland. But that's not to far fetched becuase all of the countries are on the same continent or very close, except America. The Sir' Name IREY derives from Ireland, In fact you may be surprised to Know it is one of the oldest Sir names Due to the Celtic civilization being one of the oldest. You should seek out the Family Crest. But tracking my fore fathers it seems that the Irish has been flushed from us over the centuries but even if Erich was from Germany it does not mean he was born in germany nor his father. Even in some of the earliest of times, There was and still is alot of Irey surnames in England. But the name could've been taken by the English and the Scottish and the Irish all name for the Island Ireland. So I believe our roots are very close to Ireland in some form or fashion. Again any info you have or need email me on myspace just type my name in the yahoo search. or even dixie69_1979@yahoo.com thanx a bunch may be we can swap photo's.
