I was told from an aunt of mine that all of the Irmiter's in the U.S.A. are related! After reserching our name I'm begining to think it's true.
Most of the Irmiter's from MN are descendants of Peter(Peterus)Irmiter.
Peter is the oldest son of Johann(John)Irmiter and Anna Maria Klein,from Kaifenheim Germany.(They had 9 children. 3 girls and 6 boys)
My aunt also say's that 2 of the boys Peter and ? came to the U.S. and settled in Chicago,ILL. She does not know who the other brother was.
After doing a lot of reserch,I'm almost sure the other brother was Jakob Irmiter.I also have evidence that Mathias Irmiter was here also.(He possibly came later)
We also have old "Land Grant's" and Peter's certificate of citizenship.(He became a citizen in 1857)
