About Our Family Research

my maiden name was wilks. my father was ronald david wilks who was brought up in abergavenny monmouthshire (welsh borders). his father (my grandfather) was the 'and son' of a small iron foundary, which my great grandfather had set up, and which made (amongst other things) the old drain covers which could still be seen in the town when i was a child.
my grandmother had been a davies before her marriage, and was proud of the fact that amongst her ancesters was a woman called blanche parry, who was one of the favourite handmaidens of queen elizabeth 1st - there is a monument to her in the small church at patricio in the black mountains.
