Barbara Isaacson of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

About Our Family Research

I have searched my Norwegian, Dane, and German roots for some time. I have traced my Norwegian great-grandmother's family back to 13 generations in Norway but have been unable to trace her husband, Christian Nathaniel Isaksen back more than 3 generations.
My grandmother, Anna Marie Peterson Isaacson, was Danish. Her parents, Anton and Marie Clausen Petersen, came from Vejle, Denmark but I have not been able to find out anything about their heritage. Finally my mother's family was from Germany. Her mother, Marie Kerler Kroening, has known ancesters back 5 generations in Germany but of her father, Henry Frederick Kroening little has been found.
My Scandinavian ancestors settled in Racine, WI and my German ancestors settled in Greenfield, WI, just outside of Milwaukee.
I grew up very close to my 30 cousins. The Isaacsons seemed to get together often- for grandparents' birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas, not to mention just visiting the farm at least once a month.
My father, Adrion Clifford Isaacson, was the third child of seven-six boys and 1 girl. He was born in 1917 in his parents' farmhouse outside of Racine, WI.
