Marion Isbill was born born 12/27/1901 and died 4/22/1982. He was married to Ruth Helen Lively and lived in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Marion and Ruth had twelve children. Now, this branch of Isbills stretches over many states and includes many cousins, aunts and uncles. Equally important is the vast aray of cousins, aunts, uncles, moms, dads, grandparents and great- greats that have been accounted for in the Isbill/Isbell history. The roots go back into the founding of the state of Tennessee with Captain Zachariah Isbill. Captain Zachariah came from Virginia to South Carolina then traveled to North Carolina and what is now Tennessee. He fought at Kings Mountain and was a petiioner at the Wautauga Settlement. Capt. Zachariah had a son also named Zachariah. Zachariah Jr. had a son several children, one a son named John Miller Isbill. Miller had several children including a son named William Isbill. William was married three times and fathered possibly twenty two children. Two of his children were George Washington Isbill and Marion Isbill. Washington married Elizabeth Blanton and Marion married Mary Vineyard. Marion and Mary had a son named Lorenzo Dow Isbill. Dow married Washington and Elizabeth's daughter, Dollie. Dollie and Dow had Gus, Dora, Molly, Artie, Marion, Cecil, Mack, Matty, Lizzy, Charlie, Mamie Sue, and Rufus. At present, this generation is deceased except for Matty, Mack Alvin Isbill's wife.
