My name is Charles L. Isner, Jr. I was born October 25, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My dad was Charles Louis Isner, dob 3/26/1917 and my mother was Rosemary Bissionnette, b. 1/14/1917. Both were also born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My paternal grandfather was George Joseph Isner and my great-grandfather was Louis Isner who immigrated to New York from France in 1871 I believe. We have a good deal of information on my mom's side of the family, but the information on Dad's side is sketchy at best. Louis, I'm told, came from the Alsace-Lorraine region, so the name may actually be Germanic rather than French. My grandfather told my dad, shortly before he passed away, that "dere may be some Jew in there somewhere." (Although he lived most of his adult life in Michigan he never lost his New York accent).
