The Family Tree of Izor

Updated January 14, 2003

About Our Family Research

The family settled in the Dayton, Ohio area in the early 1800's having immigrated from Europe through the port of Baltimore. Apparently of German descent, exact origin is unkown. Family legend makes reference to Caribbean pirates and such but none have been confirmed. There is a large number of Izors remaining in that area although numbers are scattered over the United States and Europe. Internet research has also located Canadians, French and others. Believed to be of German ancentry, no identifications in that country have been discovered. Apparently a derived spelling from the German ISER it was changed to IZER upon arriving in America. Working as blacksmiths and farmers, the families had numbers of children whose descendants still reside in southwestern Ohio. Research through Ellis Island identified an Izor that entered from the country of Lebanon.
