Hortense Jackson died at 6 A.M., Thursday, March 11, 1999, in Room 615 of the old Baptist Memorial Hospital. She died 14 hours after the birth of her great grandson, Nathan Emery Reeves.

Officiating at services held at Roller McNutt Funeral home on 3/13/99 was the Reverend Judy O'Donnell of the First Christian Church in Conway. Burial in the Bluff Springs cemetery beside her father in a grave marked with a stone designed by son Phillip. It shows a woman tending her flowers.
