My mother, Addie Merriman, went to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., and over a period of two years, traced her side of the family back to the Hall family, signers of the Declaration of Independence.
This site is a work-in-progress as I have to convert her handwriting to the computer, and this will obviously take some time.
Our family roots on my mother's side are solidly rooted in Wallingford Ct., since Nathaniel Hall founded the city.
My father's name Jaffin, was a taken name. His roots are from Latvia, and since he died when I was 14 yrs old, at the age of 69, not much is known other than the name was Perietz or something like that. He was born in Jersey City, N.J. and I have traced back to Abraham Jaffin who founded the Abraham Jaffin Medical Clinic in that city.
