My name is Gloria Bunts Jappert. I am looking for information about my Father's family. My father was Harmon Martin Bunts, borne April 2,1902 to Rueben Wesley Bunts and Viola Root Bunts in Woodman or Mount Hope township, Wis.
We know that Rueben paid his indentsureship and started traveling to Wis. We are positive about this because he was a very good records keeper and wrote a journel starting in 1853. We still have this journel and have quite a few facts from it. In his journel he states that his father was Benjamine who was borne March 16,1805 in Ohio. He died 12-18-1834 in Ohio.
Benjamine's parnets were Conrad Aaron Bunte and Elizabeth Gee. Conrad Aaron was the first one to add the letter s to the name Bunte. Conrad Aaron was borne 11-9-1793 in Ellsworth Township, Mahoning, Ohio and died 12-9-1883 in Ellsworth, Trumbull County, Ohio.
Conrad Aaron's parents were Conrad, borne 1777 in Hudson, New Yord and Elizabeth Williams Gee Borne Aug 8, 1771 in Tarrytown, Westchester, New York.
I would like to find the records for the emigration of these two families. I know that the Bunte family emigrated from Holland sometime prior to the Revolutionary War. The Gee family was from England.
I have a lot of other dates and names that I would be willing to share.
