Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I have recently begun researching my family tree. Key last names in my geneology include Jaques, Osmer, Downing, Rutledge, Crafford and Avery.
The Downings, Rutledges and Osmers all came from Alabama originally (or at least as far back as I can trace them). More specifically, the Downings and Rutledges came from the Cullman County area and the Osmers came from the area north of Tuscalusa.
The Jaques, Averys, and Craffords appear to have come from the Illinios and Kentucky areas.
A good majority of my decendents with the last names above migrated to the area around Kennett, Missouri during the last century. Anyone with information on these families is encourage to contact me. I will share all that I know to help you in your search.
