I was born in 1948 and have lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for most of my life. I have been collecting information on the my ancestral family names:Jeakins/Chandler/Christmas/Rawlins & Alderman on my fathers side. Macfarlane/Wells/Best/Thexton on my mother's side, over the past few years and I am now trying to put it all together in a comprehensive form.
My father was Thomas Alderman Jeakins (b1907/d1965)and he moved here from England when he was seventeen. He grew up in a small village called Riseley, Bedfordshire, England. His father was Charles Thomas Alderman Jeakins who married Elizabeth Chandler who re-married after his death to a Clarence Bateman.
My mother was Helen Macfarlane (b1907/d1988)she grew up in the Mt.Pleasant/Peterborough area. She was the second youngest of six children. Her parents were Charles Duncan Macfarlane & Ella Violet Best.
My great, great grandparents on my mother's side are Andrew Macfarlane & Harriet Wells, John Best & Annie Margaret Thexton.
