My sister and I have created an Oral History of every memeber of the family that we ever knew of starting with Rosario Bacchi who was born in Sciacca, Sicily in 1858. We go back no further than that yet but we have information and photographs of every descendent of his through his son Giaocchino (Jacob)Bacchi. Due to the Italian military subscripting Sicilian boys into the military, a very dangerous place to be because of bad conditions more than any war, many of the families sent their sons to America. My grandfather was sent here at the age of 16 in 1897 through Ellis Island. He married Maria Saladino and had 9 children, 2 of whom died shortly after birth. My mother, Accursia, was his second child that lived to adulthood and she had 3 brothers and 3 sisters who also reached adulthood. My mother had 4 children, and 12 grandchildren. She was a Bacchi and married John Francis Hoy Jr. in 1931. I married Robert Irvin Jetter in 1958. I am 67 years old and thought it might be a good exercise to put down what we knew. It is almost finished and will probably go to print in Y2K. We hope to have a CD for everyone in the family by xmas. I have wanted to put this on a website and it looks like this might be the place
