From Gilson to Jillson - The Thomas Jillson Genealogy Updated November 8, 2003
About Our Family Research
Jillson, Fratto, Bagley, Bieber, Kransberger, Bryant and a lot more surnames are connected in this genealogy. Started by David Jillson in 1870, this genealogy research for this family tree builds on his research that leads all the way back to the early 1600s in America. It leads back to the British Isles on the Jillson side and many other countries from families that have married into the Jillson family.
The family name was first seen in the Americas in 1640 when James Gilson emigrated from England to the Rhode Island area, near the Massachusettes border. His sons spelled their names differently; one kept the "G" the other spelled and pronounced the name with the soft "J" and it became Jillson.
We are now in the 14th Generation since James, with literally hundreds of Jillson clans spread from coast to coast. In a recent search on the World Wide Web, over a dozen people with my name - and they're not me - came up in the search.
This research is ongoing and with help will get better and better information included. So, send your information to me at the official Email of the Jillsons - firstname.lastname@example.org
