Hi! My maiden name is Susan Diane JINKINS. My parents were Delbert and Jennie Bernice (JONES) JINKINS. I am the youngest of my generation in both the JINKINS and the JONES line. My g-g-grandparents, John and Isabella (GAY) JINKINS were both born in Virginia, but the date and place are unknown. By 1830 they were in Ohio, by 1839 they were in Fountain Co.,Indiana, and their son, Samuel JINKINS (my g-grandfather) was in Vermilion Co.,Illinois by 1870. My g-g-grandparents, Thomas and Mary (JENKINS) JONES were both born in Wales, England, in 1803 and 1804 respectively. They came with their children to work the coalmines in Fountain Co., Indiana, in 1854. Their son Joseph JONES (my g-grandfather) was in Vermilion Co.,Illinois by 1870. My mother got me interested in the family history when I was approximately 13yrs. old, and I've worked on it off and on for the last 38yrs. This is my first attempt to share the information that I've compiled with anyone other than immediate family members. I'm hoping that by putting it out here for viewing that I'll be able to fill in some of the blanks for others researching the same lines, and hopefully, I'll get some of my blanks filled in by those who visit this site. Over the next few days and weeks I'll be adding my family tree and other information (space permitting) to this site.
