Scots-Irish COLE Family NC-TN-AR-TX and OK Updated August 9, 2008
About Our Family Research
After several disappointing attempts to latch onto a COLE family without enough evidence, I decided to begin with the oldest ancestor I could remember and slowly work my way backwards. Babe COLE was born about 1861, but he lived a long life, and I remember him as an old gray-haired gentleman walking with a cane, and as a small child I was in awe of him. Tracing his parents and grandparents was fairly easy, but the COLE family history before Fayetteville, Tennessee left me with a state, North Carolina, but no idea where to begin. I've enjoyed the travel, the research in courthouses and above all the meeting of relatives who were heretofore unknown.
