I am researching the Parker family in Vernon County, Wisconsin and their ancestors. This Parker line are descendants of Captain James Parker of Groton Massachusetts, moved to New York, then to Juneau County, Wisconsin, and finally on to Vernon County. (7) Gideon Pitts PARKER (6-Elijah, 5-Elijah, 4-James Sr., 3-Samuel Sr., 2-James Jr., 1-Capt. James Sr.) and Lucina WATKINS lived in Ontario County, NY where their 7 children were born. Gideon moved to Juneau County Wisconsin between 1855 and 1857 when Lucina died. Their children are Gideon P., Asel J., Fay, Mandane, Symmanthia, Hortensie L., and Adeline. Gideon P. Jr., married Alvira LEWIS, Asel J. married Mary Ann WHITING and we believe the other children never married. I believe that Asel J. (my gggrandfather) is the only child to stay in Wisconsin. The other children moved on to Minnesota. Asel and Mary Ann had 3 children, William, Charles and Nellie. William, Charles and Nellie were taken in and raised by a family named LEWIS after their father died. We are not sure why this happend as their mother lived for another 38 years and remarried a PATTERSON. Samuel M. and Hortensie L. Lewis moved the children from Juneau County to Vernon County, where the rest of my family still mostly lives. Anyone who has any information on this line of Parkers in Wisconsin, please feel free to contact me at lilsprite25@hotmail.com
