| About Our Family Research |
|
I began this research to trace my family and my son's family roots for his posterity. This was in the 70's when all of the work was done by letter. In 2003, I obtained a computer and entered in the genealogical world online. What a difference! Aside from accessing data from all over the world, I was able to make contact with hundreds of people in a like endeavor. Not all of them were following the same line; in fact, only one or two, but it's been an education, nonetheless. To date, I have found no information regarding family reunions. From what I have seen, there are Dawes in Australia, Canada, England, and perhaps, Scotland and Ireland. There has been mention of Dawes in Germany, South Africa, and India. I don't foresee a family reunion except perhaps by computer-conference. The most difficult part of the search is that many of the older generations are deceased. So it is even more vital that as much correct information be gathered now. Unfortunately, much was based on family say-so when I started. So now I have to backtrack. This makes verification much more difficult. I plan a trip to England, Scotland, and Ireland in 2006. I hope to be able to do a lot of hands-on researching.

Family Photos
|
- Dad's reading my favorite story book. Abt 1943. (124 KB)
For as long as I can remember, Dad took a lot of his own photos using a tripod. I'm the oldest of three children, so there are a lot of pictures of my and my brother's chlidhoods.
- This was taken at time of a Ross-Robson reunion. (219 KB)
I'm glad Mom and my aunts took time for this pic July 19, 1992. Grandma and Grandpa Frank Lisle and their sons, Everett and John were deceased, as well as G & G siblings. So the four girls were all that were left. Plus a LOT of cousins.
- My son, Chris, & student. Chris is the tall one. (78 KB)
Chris is the reason I started researching family lines. He is currently teaching Converational English to a variety of students in Tokyo. The young man with him is one of the younger ones. He has also worked with nurses, generals, and businessmen. The thing he enjoys most is all the traveling he's done. It runs in the family.
- Parents, Siblings, Spouses, and Children (27 KB)
We had a group photo taken of the family. Unfortunately, my son, Chris, and Debbie's son, Eric, were not able to be present. BackRow: My sister, Deb; her husband, Steve; Me; my brother, Frank; Frank's daughter, Rebecca, and son Doug. FrontRow: Deb's stepson, Kyle; and son, Brandon; Mom and Larry (both deceased); Dorothy, Frank's wife; Doug's wife, Jennifer, and their son, Christian. Since then, Doug and Jen have had two girls. Kyle is now in the service in Afganistan and Brandon is 13. This is the only group photo and may be six to ten years old. Sorry about the quality; it's been residing in my wallet.
