Eli Hill was killed in the Civil War fighting for the south. He was Killed in the battle at Perryville, Kentucky. His name is on the marker located on the battle ground. He was only one of few that was identfied after the battle. 8000 both north and south soilders were killed in the battle and burried where they fell on the battlefield.
