I just joined the group a couple of days ago and would like to get a summa ry
of my Carr/Kerr/Karr line out to everyone.

Matthew and Susannah (Ervin?) Carr, both born abt 1760/1770, are in KY by
1790 where they receive a land grant in 1798 on Flat Lick Creek in what is
now Pulaski Co KY. I estiamte their marriage at 1790-1793 but have yet to
locate where it occurred. Their children include -

Samuel Carr, b 1793, mar Easter Johnson
William Carr, b 1794/1798, married Rebecca Johnson
John M Carr, b 6/1/1798 (twin to James), married Elizabeth Provence
James Carr, b 6/1/1798 (twin to John), married Elizabeth _?_
Jane Carr, b 1794/1800, no further info known about her
Andrew Carr, b 1800/1801, married Virginia Jane Griffith
Harvey Carr, b 1804, married Martha "Patsy" J Mayfield
Matthew Ervin Carr, b 1806, married Elizabeth "Betty" Sears

I don't know where Matthew came to Kentucky from. Their known descendants
are in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, Texas, Missouri, and West
Virginia. I would enjoy connecting and sharing with others following a ny of
these lines. I've got tracked over 1600 descendants of Matthew & Susannah
and welcome all queries and requests for gedcom on this line.

Happy Hunting to you all!

Hi Pat,

I really appreciate the time and generosity you show to everyone following
the Carr/Kerr/Karr lines, and am very thankful that you pass my name on to
others.

As far as I know, I am the submitter of the World Family Tree, Vol 1,
Pedigree #950, William Carr, but I'm not sure. It was not submitted to WF T,
it seems to have been scammed from a gedcom I posted to AOL, BUT - I'm gla d
it's there. Its just confusing when people write referencing it, because
I've never seen the CD. I just recently upgraded from PAF to FTM, and
haven't bought any of the WFT resources yet.

If you have WFT Vol 1, would you look at it and see if the submitter is
named? If the submitter is named, and it is me, the submitter name would
show as Donna Susan Carr, D Susan Carr, or Susan Carr, or something simila r.
What makes me think it's me is that others have sent the file to me, a nd it
looks like all of my info. I don't want to sound like I resent that it 's on
WFT, because I think that's wonderful.. However, if I am the submitter,
there's a glaring error in it.

The oldest generation is probably shown as William and Susannah, both born
about 1760-1770 thereabouts. At the time I posted to the AOL gedcom libra ry,
that's the best info I had. Since then I've acquired a more legible co py of
some court records, land records, etc, and the name is actually Mat(t)h ew and
Susannah, with my line being their son Samuel Carr and spouse Easter Johns on.

Sorry about the length of this note, but I do appreciate your database and
your sharing of my name and family lines. I keep a database of all the Ca rr
queries I've seen on AOL. but I think your database is more complete than
mine, and I do refer people to you. I hope that's okay with you.

Anytime you want an update of my file, let me know. I don't know how you
maintain your database, so it may be a lot of work on your part to acce pt an
updated file from me, but other than the one William actually being a
Mat(t)hew, I've not yet proven the next generation back.

Sincerely,

Susan Carr

Pat: Do you have or know anyone that has a Mathew Carr that married Susann ah
?? either in PA or NY? Could Mathew Carr have come to USA on a boat? I
cannot find the date of Mathew Carr birthdate. It is assumed anyway. I
will send you the date as soon as I find it. Thanking you in advance.

REPLY: I forwarded your Sept 12 post to Kentucky5@aol.com, who is also res earching this line. Has she been in touch? She is quite knowledgable and s hould be able to help you. My online database has her Matthew and Susann ah listed. Her line is on CD#1 of the World Family Tree, also, but the re is an error -- she used to have the name as William who married Susanna h, but she clarified it some time back with clearer docs and found it w as Matthew and Susannah. Write to her. Good luck!
