My research serves not only to pass down to future generations, but has also become a hobby of mine. My family is proud to be able to look back upon several generations and reveal our ties to the very first Kings and Queens of ancient Hawaii! Other ties reach back to 17th century Europe, 18th century Puerto Rico, and 19th century China and Germany. Some of our family surnames include; Kaumualii, Kapiolani, Kaikala, Davis, Meek, Marin, Meyer, Lee, Sedeno, Rodrigues, and Kane. A few years ago we held a family reunion for the Meyer clan, and visited the old Waianae Sugar Plantation, where our patriarch, Frederick Meyer once resided and served as "luna" or headmaster. We also visited gravesites that held other Meyer ancestors long passed away.
