Barbara Jeanne Cadot Garrett Keating's Genealogy Updated July 2, 2001
About Our Family Research
My Grandmother, Bettie Roberta Deardorff Cadot, gets all the credit for my genealogy as she spent 25 years researching the Deardorff and Cadot ancestors for her descendants. She is the reason I am in the DAR along with my sister and daughters. So far we have marked the grave of our Civil War ancestor, Lt. Col. Lemuel Zenas Cadot who organized the 91st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and in 2003 we will be marking the grave of one of our Revolutionary War ancestors, Henry Deardorff, who served as a wagonmaster along with his father, Abraham. They did not believe in killing as they were devout Christians and members of the Church of the Brethren. Abraham and his parents and siblings and his grandparents, Anthony and Christena, fled Germany in 1729 because of religious persecution.
