Introduction
The Kearney Family History was compiled over a thirteen-year period beginning in Ohio and ending in Illinois. It started with my curiosity over my paternal grandparents and expanded from there. I hope you enjoy this book, some of which is tedious and cumbersome while other parts may prove to be interesting. I would like to thank the late Veronica Gruber, Dorothy Haas, Helen Kearney, Michael Kearney, of Patrick’s brother Thomas’s side, the late Teresa Kearney, the late Michael Wittmuss, the Cook County Clerk’s Office, Department of Veteran Affairs, Lexington Genealogical Society, Limerick Regional Archives, McLean County Clerk’s Office, McLean County Historical Society, Newberry Library in Chicago, Peoria County Clerk’s Office, Riverside County Clerk’s Office, Tazewell County Historical Society, Woodford County Clerk’s Office and my parents, the late Donald and Dolores Kearney, for their assistance in this book’s development. I truly appreciated their help. Lastly, I would like to thank Michael Kearney for contacting me about Patrick’s brother, Thomas Timothy which answered so many questions and made the “connection” for us. He is truly appreciated.
