This database includes many families, not all directly related. The main focus is on Shulers (and alternate spellings), especially in early SC, NC, GA, TN, VA, MD & PA, and their descendants. My database currently includes over 4,000 Shulers, Schulers, Shulars, etc.
My mother is a Shuler; her family line traces back to George Shuler, Sr. of western SC and NC (ca. 1750-1826). We're not sure where he came from before arriving in South Carolina in the mid-1780's, but current research points to Maryland (and perhaps Pennsylvania before that). My husband also has Shuler ancestors, tracing back to Gabriel Shuler (ca. 1672-1779) of Montgomery Co., PA. I am attempting to research all Shuler/Schuler families who were in America before the Revolutionary War, and their descendants, trying to sort out which of these families were related to one another, where they migrated to, etc. Dozens of Schuler immigrants arrived in America in Colonial times, so they are certainly not all related, but many of them are.
