Creek, Texas Kinfolk
Updated July 5, 2006

The Creek Homecoming is held the second Sunday of each July at the Creek Baptist Church. Almost everyone who shows up is either kin to me or kin to someone kin to me. Aside from fellowship, the homecoming generates funds for the maintenance of the Old Creek Cemetery which is just down the road from the Baptist Church. My father (Albert Jackson Keels), my grandfather (Daniel Jackson Keels) and my great-grandfather (Isaac Jackson Keels) are all buried in the Old Creek Cemetery. On my mother's side, I have two great-grandmothers (Mary Frances Dobbs Stubbs and Gussie Louisa Forbes Wright) and two great-grandfathers (Lewis Taylor Stubbs and James Robert Wright) buried there. Both of my mother's parents (Willie Cornelia Wright Stubbs and Earl Adam Stubbs) are there as well.
