I have always thought my family was strange and complicated. My fathers mother,Bernice Kathrine whose maiden name is Keenon(grandma), was married to Martin Ryan. They had three children James, Margret Mary ( Sister Jean Patrice), and Gerald (Jerry). After James and Margret Mary were born and while Grandma was pregnant with Gerald, my father, Martin and Bernice seperated, never to divorce. It was against my grandmothers Catholic religion. My grandmother unnoffically took back her maiden name, Keenon. When she enrolled her children in school she registered them in her maiden name Keenon even though they were really born Ryans. Their birth records bear this out. All records from this time on refer to them as Keenon's. My grandparents never divorced. Not long after my fathers birth his father died in a care crash. Me and My seven brothers and sisters are named Keenon, as well as any cousins, but our blood ancestory on my Fathers side are both Keenon and Ryan.
