Researching the Kefels having roots in region of the German city Hannover.
The Village of Origine is Schulenburg, about 20 km. south of Hannover where still lives many Kefels. I've been there on Dec. 7, 2002 having a very nice contact and only time for a small tour in Schulenburg.
It is a curious thing, seeing people with the same name whom are related by name and history.
Kefel means in Hebrew: number of three. In the Koran is a reference to the Jewish Prohet Zum-El-Kefel. In Tunesia is an oasis called "El-Kef", and in Iraq (presumed to be) a city "Kefel".
In the history of the Kefel Family is also a possible link (75%) to the Kehbel tree, where the 'adminitration by hand' changed the name syntax whithing one family at the birth event.
Due to a migration in the 1905s from Belgium to the U.S.A. of Heinrich Conrad Wilhelm Herman KEFEL (AKA Herman KEFEL), died in 1980 San Diego California, is there also a need to search. I hope to find Family and/or Friends who knew him.
