My father, Luigi came to America with his two brothers and sister, Antonio, Francesco and Rose with my grandmother, Marie Donato Scerbo on June 13, 1913. The came on the Napoli. My Aunt Rose is now 93 years of age and has been a great source of information to me about my grandparents' parents names my father's parents were Antonio and Marie Scerbo and my grandmothers parents were Luigi and Rose Donato and she also told me a few stories. One story that was recently told to me by my cousin was that when my grandmother lived in Italy, she would got to Egypt as a wet nurse. My aunt confirmed this story. My grandparents lived in Jersey City on 9 Wright Ave. and I hope to gather some great stories that my cousins will share about our Sunday dinners at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I have just found out that my grandfather, Giuseppe (Joseph) made two trips to America. His first trip was in 1905 and returned to Italy in 1907. He then came back to America in 1911 and stayed in America at that time. He was one of six children. and he was the youngest. His sister married a Rotella. My great grandfather Antonio's wife's maiden name also was Scerbo.
