Moses Kelley was born 27 February 1754 in Baltimore Co., Maryland. We do not know who his parents are or if they were born in the United States or across the sea. His grandparents may have been James and Mary Kelley. James was born about 1680 in Mallow, Kinneigh Parish, Cork, Ireland.
Moses served twice in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in the Maryland Militia in April of 1777. He was injured by being thrown from a horse. He again volunteered in August of 1777.
He married Ruth Rolls in Baltimore Co., Maryland on 10 August 1788. The marriage was performed by the Rev. Lewis Richards, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
Known children are: Isaac born about 1791; Ephriam born in 1792; Elias born 01 april 1797; William Allen born 20 May 1800; Micha born about 1801; Jefferson born about 1809.
Moses and his family moved to Grant Co., Kentucky. He is found in the Campbell Co., KY census of 1820. In 1833 he is in Owen Co., IN applying for a Revolutionay War Pension.
Moses apparently died from an injury sustained in a stagecoach accident in Somerset, PA in the year 1839. We do not know where he is buried.
We have been actively searching this family for almost 20 years. Would love to find more cousins.
